News and Announcements
After a slow start the Broncos responded with two victories over a tough Weber State team. Game One was an extra inning 8-9 loss, that we had several chances but could never get that key hit to bust things open. Bryce Vaughn (2-4), Justin Giesige (3-6), Noah Souza (3-3) and Austin Tomlinson (2-4) all had a great game at the plate. Game two was a pitchers dual with Max Phillips going 5 innings and only gave up 3 hits and a single run to keep it close until the bats came alive. Jack Almeida (2-4), Chester Pruett (2-4) produced at the plate along with two huge pitch hits from Matt Robinett and Spencer Sylvester. Pitchers Jack Furry and Justin Giesige each came in relief to shut the door in the 4-1 victory. Game three was another pithchers` battle with Spencer Sylvester going 6 very effiencent innings while only facing 21 batters, zero runs with the backing of a strong defensive effort. Justin Giesige (2-4), Chester Pruett (2-5) and Matthew Johnson (2-4) all had good games at the plate. A big 5 run inning in the 8th inning sealed the deal on offense as Maui Jack Almeida came in and slammed the door in the 7-1 victory.

Logan had an outstanding performance on the mound in pitching a complete game (6 inning) win against Northern Arizona. He needed only 61 pitches in the 14 – 1 victory. He allowed 2 hits, 1 run, 6 strikeouts, and 2 walks.
Great Job guys!
The Broncos are off and running to a great start with a 4 game sweep in the Mesquite Tournament. Game one was a sea saw 9-8 battle with the Univ. of Wyoming with Cam Tafoya ending it with a 3 run walk off triple. Cam went 3-4 with 4 RBI`s and a double to go with the triple. Chester Pruett and Justin Giesige both went 2-4 on the offense side. Jack Almeida came in and finished out the game with 4 strike outs and picked up the win. Game two was an offensive explosion as the Broncos erupted for 14 runs in 4 at bats against the Univ. of Northern Arizona in the 14-1 victory. Jace Okamoto pace the group with his 2-4 performance, and again Chester (2-4) and Justin (2-3) added multiple hits in the shortened game. Logan Hawkins pitched a gem of a game in this 5 inning complete game outing. Logan face only 20 batters, allowing 1 hit, getting 6 strikeouts without issuing a walk. He only used 61 pitches (45 Strikes) in route to a very efficient win. Game three was a 6-4 victory over a tough Northern Colorado team. This game was won in the top of the 7th with two big 2 run singles by Bryce Vaughn and you guess it CHESTER! The trio of Spencer Sylvester, Sam Petritz and closer Jack Furry kept the N. Colorado batters off balance the entire game. Spencer had 7 strikeouts in 4 innings and Jack came in and struck out the side in the 7th to pick up the 6-4 win. Game four was a 6-0 victory over a gutsy Univ. of Montana team. Four Broncos had a multiple hit game, Justin Giesige 2-3, Brandon Hernandez 2-3, Austin Tomlinson 2-3 and Grant Gaudio 2-3! Jeremy Horvat started on the bump and pitched 5 very strong innings, striking out 4 and giving no free passes to the Grizzlies. Matthew Johnson then came in and slammed the door close with 6 strikeouts in the final two innings. Great job to the entire team as there is not enough time to mention everyone who had a very good tournament. And again the Bronco`s had the most fans at all the games, thanks to all the family and friends who came out and supported us. GO BRONCO`S
