The Broncos had a strong showing over the weekend in their series against Blue Mountain C.C. varsity team. Just goes to show how far club baseball has come in the past couple years when we can not only compete but win against scholarship players. Game one was a 9-8 victory with Nick Palta starting on the bump and going 5 innings and spreading out 6 hits, Kjell Holmes then came in and finish it off with 4 innings of 4 hit ball. Blue Mtn. couldn`t keep the top of the Bronco order off the bags! Cooper Thomas, Rich Hoppe and Tyson Dellasilva were on 15-18 at bats, scored 5 runs and had 9 hits. Game two was a pitching dual with Tyson Dellasilva going toe to toe with their best pitchers. The Broncos had more hits, fewer errors and generally out played the other team everywhere but on the scoreboard, we just didn`t get that key hit in a tough, well played 1-4 loss. Game three was also very well played by the Broncos as Marcus Brother took a 3-2 lead into the 6th inning, our exhausted 5 man pitching staff just couldn`t hold against a roster with 15+ pitchers. Still we out hit the other team, committed fewer errors and hustled to the end in a 4-7 loss. Blue Mountains coach after the game expressed his and his teams new earned respect for our club.
The Broncos had a big weekend taking 3 games from the Weber State Wildcats. Tyson Dellasilva lead the charge with his bat going 5-8 with 5 runs scored and 6 RBI`s. Richard Hoppe also went 5-8, scored 5 runs and was on base 9 time in 11 plate appearences. Curtis Davidson was 3-6 and scored 3 runs. Nick Palta went 3-7, after throwing a solid game one win. Kjell Holmes came in game one and closed down the Wildcats, then pitched a complete 6 inning game only using 52 pitches to stumped Weber St.

Game one was shortened to 5 innings as Nick Palta pitched a strong outing allowing only 1 run, 4 K`s and scattering 5 hits. Richard Hoppe (2-2), Kevin Coburn (2-3) and Taylor Archuleta (2-3) lead the offense that took care of business quickly in the 11-1 win. Game two was Cooper Thomas`s game to shine as he went (5-5) from the plate with 3 stolen bases. Tyson Dellasilva also had a multi-hit game and Richard Hoppe was on base all 5 at bats and scored 3 runs. Tyson pitched a 7 inning complete game for the 12-4 win, striking out 7 batters. Game three was a scheduled 9 inning game that was called after 7 on the mercy rule as the Broncos jump all over the Bobcats early and often! 24-5 offensive outburst was lead by Richard Hoppe going (4-4, 4 runs, 4 RBI`s) Tyson (3-5), Scott Lyness (2-2, 2 doubles), Taylor (2-2, 3RBI`s), Kevin (2-3) and Cooper (2-4).
